OBJECTIVES & DECISION

The power of 5 minutes

Possibilities to use available small time intervals

What are 5 minutes? Maybe it is the time that it takes you to be bored in a line. Or impatient in a traffic jam. But it can be the time to invest in something useful.

And 7 times 5 minutes? And 30 times 5 minutes? What about 360 times 5 minutes? Here are some ideas about what you can do with so many 5 minutes:

5 minutes

-    Get your e-mails

-    In the morning, review your objectives

-    Before going to bed, review what you have advanced in your goals

-    Before going to bed, meditate to turn off

-    Write down those ideas that you have been meditating upon

-    Prepare the agenda to the day

-    Look the agenda and define priorities for the day

-    Sew on a button

-    Compete with colleagues to see who finds more things that can be done in 5 minutes

-    Do a profound breathing exercise

-    Backup some important files

-    Make a pause and simply rest

-    Revise your purse or folder and throw away the unnecessary

-    Do a brainstorm

-    Sweep a room

-    Do absolutely nothing, just exist for 5 minutes!

-    When waking up, and to be awaken, do some muscle extension

-    Recall important facts of the day

-    Rest, by meditating paying attention to breathing

-    Observe your body and relax tense points (how are your shoulders now?)

-    To record a TV program that later you can watch in intervals of 5 minutes

-    Think of things that can be done in 5 minutes

5 daily minutes, for a week (35 min.)

-    Do 7 times what you can do in 5 minutes

-    Read the most important articles of that magazine

-    Plan an outing for the weekend

-    Write a letter or a report

-    Write a contribution to this site reporting something you did that worked

-    Search new forms of improving a relationship

-    Others?

5 daily minutes, for a month (2h30m)

-    Do 30 times anything that you can do in 5 minutes

-    Learn how to operate a computer

-    Learn the basics of a word processor or worksheet

-    Read a small book

-    Read a magazine

-    Clean the books and organize the shelf

-    Watch TV programs that you recorded to watch in intervals of 5 minutes (who would do this?)

-    Others?

5 daily minutes, for a year (30 hours!)

-    Do 360 times...

-    Learn how to ride a bicycle

-    Read several books

-    Learn jugglery

-    Develop in singing

-    Learn to operate (well) a computer and a text processor or worksheet

-    Learn typescript

-    Practice that mental skill that you decided to develop until the level of doing without thinking

-    Others?

Decide what you are going to do and enjoy it!
