MEDITATION
What is meditation
And its several benefits
Meditation consists in general of regular practices
involving essentially a controlled focus of attention. Though it appears
with a mystic aura, its practice provides several benefits and
practical improvements, like (my own experience):
- Physical, mental and emotional rest
- Increased capacity of concentration
- Enhanced self-control
- Enhanced freedom of choice
- Increased creativity, by means of greater freedom of
thinking
The word meditation has been already used with other
meanings. In the section Objectives
& Decision, for example, you are going to find the Dreamer's
induction, originally Dreamer's meditation. To make a distinction,
we have opted for calling that kind of meditation “linguistic
induction”.
Meditation in general can also involve sounds, but not
talked or thought language, on the contrary, one of the goals is exactly
to activate a level of non-linguistic thinking, which nevertheless may
be useful in some contexts, it is not in others.
