EMPOWERMENT

Inspiration to overcome presumed limits

Use your imagination to go beyond

This is something to be done; the results dispense more explanations.

1) Get chalk or something that can be used for demarcation on the ground (a line in the floor can help).

2) Standing, with feet together and aligned, rotate one foot on the heel until its limit (picture). Mark the angle the ffot reached and realign your feet back to the original position.

3) Close your eyes and visualize the same movement, rotating the same foot beyond it went before (only in imagination, don’t move physically the foot this time).

4) Repeat step 2 and again mark the angle reached by the foot.

5) Compare the angles, before and after.

I used this technique of mental enlargement of limits in classroom demonstrations, and just one or two in each 40 didn't reach a larger angle . No one ever reached in the second time a smaller angle. It was very useful in certain posture exercises, also to provide greater concentration.

Variation: try doing the same with an opened arm, instead of the feet.
