How to eat a bicycle

Or an elephant or something bigger

What do the China’s Wall and a wall of your house have in common?

And which is the resemblance between eating an elephant and eating a bicycle? And between eating a ton and walking a thousand miles?

Let’s see a few things that any common human being does. A 30 year old person has already lived more than 12 thousand days. We are going to round it to 10.000 to make accounts easier and to discount the initial years.

Supposing you consume 1 kilogram of food a day, in 30 years you will have eaten 10 tons. That is, you eat a ton of food every 3 years. Not taking drinks into account.

And if you walk 1 kilometer a day, on average (little, isn’t it?), every 3 years you get to walk more than a thousand kilometers. In 30 years, 10 thousand kilometers. In life, it suffices to you to walk around the planet, in the Equator line where the turn is larger (all right, it is necessary a good reason to do that).

Maybe you have already seen how to eat an elephant: a little bit at a time. In the bicycle case, an American guy milled his and mixed small portions of the fragments in each meal. He got the job completed in three months.

Therefore, if you want to eat a bicycle, to walk thousands of kilometers or to achieve some dream or project you have, and if you don't have a genius lamp, it seems that there is only a way: a little bit at a time!
